Re: Life, The Universe, and Everything
Tomorrow , May 6th ,will be three years since Doug left us so soon. With all the “hype” about fusion breakthroughs lately, maybe the rest of us left here will live to see some sort of sustained fusion; I certainly hope so. -Bill

Re: Life, The Universe, and Everything
Saturday marks the second anniversary of Doug's death. Even now, occasionally, for a fleeting moment, I think about how to do something and think, "Oh, I'll just ask Doug." As with a relative that has passed, you wish you had listened more closely, asked more questions, and taken better notes.
I ...

Re: Life, The Universe, and Everything
Dave, Hi. Yes I too am a believer. Yes, Doug is probably reading this in maybe one of those +/- eleven dimensions; or whatever they think exists now. If you think about it, Doug's brain waves are traveling out through the universe as we speak. It might take one of his "fine wine" preamps to pull the ...

Re: Life, The Universe, and Everything
Hi All, It's been one year today since Doug left us. It has been a really long year without Doug. Dave Knight and I were going to Doug's the day he died to shoot guns. Dave found him and it was rough for both of us that day. He was an extraordinary person with many varied capabilities. Like many of ...

Doug Coulter
It is with great sorrow I announce the passing of Doug Coulter in the wee hours of Thurday May the 6th. As you know Doug had been battling Non small cell lung cancer. None of us thought Doug would leave us this soon. He had unbearable pain in his bones as the cancer had metastasized ...

Re: Oh no, I'm famous, again!
Hi, Since this story has gone "Nuclear", so to speak, being picked up by news publications worldwide, I suspect this is just the beginning of many, many requests. I have seen some "captchas" that require you to perform mathematical computations before you can get in. I wonder if there is one that ...
Re: SEM Gloat
Hi, Yeah Jerry seems to have the knack for finding some cool stuff. I found a SEM about 15 years ago at a surplus sale. About the size of one of those rooms of furniture IKEA sells. If I had bought it, I was undoubtedly be divorced now. It's extra tough finding stuff around here in Podunk. I can ...

Re: Another new toy: Spectroradiometer
Hi, Ok. I had this ESP that someone was talking about me somehow. I have had this item on pre-order for a couple of months. I thought it might be modified as a chemical chromatographic device somehow. No where on the scale or function of what Jerry has, but maybe a start. It has Linux software with ...

Reverse engineered chemical database
Hi, Not sure how I found this, but I was looking for one chemical and this showed up. You can browse the specific chemical you want (if listed) and it brings back the commercial products that contain it. I had been going at it the wrong way; surfing MSDS(s) and looking for interesting chemicals ...
