Greetings from Oklahoma

Post here once you join, and tell us about yourself so we have a clue who we are talking to.
Keep threads short here -- once you have something to say, there's a topic here somplace where it will fit -- and if not, let me know and I will make subforums as necessary. We want all of hard science and tech up here, and if something doesn't fit -- that's my fault and I will fix that for you. See the rules and tips in the parent forum, please.
Forum rules
This sub forum is for new menbers to announce themselves. Try not to create long threads here -- this is just for you to tell us who you are, and for us to say welcome. There are other forums to actually discuss real tech-science things here, and ask questions on. The idea hopefully is to have enough forums and subforums that nothing sci-tech related will be off-topic, there will be a place for it. If I missed something -- let me know, and I'll fix that.

Hello there,
My name is Jim Arnold and I live in Oklahoma, My parents moved me here when I was 7 from Long Beach California.
My father was a WWII vet, GM3 on the Saratoga and a few other ships in the Navy. Once out he went to work for JPL N.A.S.A in Pasadena California.
My Father worked on some very famous projects, one of which was called the Galileo Project as a lead engineer.

The Navy told my father he could not have children.. Surprise.

Growing up, people thought I was a grandchild because he was 59 when he had me in 77.
He passed in 2005, today he would be 94 years old.

I found you all today because a person whom I work with thought I would be related to Doug Coulter, because of my mind and work.
It wasn't easy growing up as a child, I was the odd ball, made fun of because of my knowledge and ideas at a young age. I use to place first in Science fairs if I wanted to do them.
I can do pretty much anything. I'm good in mechanics, music, engineering, programming, graphics, photography, plumbing, electronics, meteorology, astronomy, I play 7 different instrument and the list goes on.
People come to me that know me when they need help because I probably know the answer or can find the answer.

I spend a lot of time thinking about the universe and the math involved, the key and the common sense of all life.

Thanks for having me.
Jim

Yup, you sound a bit like me to me.
Hope we have lots to share!
Welcome to the officially (if not actually) rational looney bin.

Posting as just me, not as the forum owner. Everything I say is "in my opinion" and YMMV -- which should go for everyone without saying.
