No it isn't
it is usually a phenolic former that is the same as the other iron powder /ferrite sizes so a filter bank like in HF rigs looks all the same usually used for the 10m band segment
Advantages include---impossible to saturate

If it is just an air core former, then that's fine. I did not see that suggested - it is referred to as 'a material'!

On the subject of low permeabilty stuff, I was trying to find power loss rates for the standard iron cores, but can only find data for very low magnetic fluxes, which makes it difficult to design to their advantage of high saturation. Are there any graphics for iron powder materials' specific power loss versus frequency and flux?

Amidon are only small quantity resellers so info is not one of their strong points
Amidon associates get their stuff from
Micrometals for iron powder cores
and
Fairite for ferrite cores
check out each manufacturers site for the real oil on their cores---its all there
I did buy some Fairite type 43 2402 cores some years back direct from ferrite and the miniumum buy was 6000 pieces
so if you need some of these i'll sell you some good for 2MHz to approx 200MHz for RF transformers

..for now I'll stick with the ur=1 material. I have sooo much of that in the house, already!!! :D
