Good day fellow techies, engineers, scientists, programmers etc etc, as my name suggests, I'm Marc Tolken.
During the day, I spend my hours writing software for different types of applications (software, databases, websites etc),
and during the night I start tinkering with things that really interest me.
At the moment, I'm busy restoring two cars, a Ford GT 40, and a Nissan 200SX S13. The Ford is a project my dad and myself are sharing, and the Nissan I'm busy building to be a very exciting daily driver.
I'm also learning more and more about electronic engineering, chemistry and whatever I can get my hands on. At the moment, I'm mainly focusing on electronic engineering.
My inspiration comes from two big influences in my life:
Firstly, my father. He is an electronic engineer, but he's the type of person who also has the knowledge and skills to design & do just about anything that he wants to.
If you present him with a challenge, he will get it done. He has introduced me to countless things I will cherish and be able to use during my life.
Secondly, Steve Wozniak, who designed the first Apple computers. After reading his biography, and watching many documentaries about him, I realised the type of person I want to be.
He's always friendly, and he's always curious. He has done amazing things for us, which I don't think I'll match, but I might as well try!
I'm not a big fan of catching a few z's, so I tend to stay up late tinkering & making things. I like community based projects, and I like what I've seen on the famous Gizmodo Doug Coulter video.
A community where money isn't exchanged, but rather something like services. I love helping people out, and I never expect anything in return. This has worked in my favour, as the people I've helped are always willing to lend a hand if they see there's an opportunity.
Thank you for adding me to the forum, I know I will learn a lot, and I hope I'll be able to help out.
