Greetings from Crump, Michigan, USA

Post here once you join, and tell us about yourself so we have a clue who we are talking to.
Keep threads short here -- once you have something to say, there's a topic here somplace where it will fit -- and if not, let me know and I will make subforums as necessary. We want all of hard science and tech up here, and if something doesn't fit -- that's my fault and I will fix that for you. See the rules and tips in the parent forum, please.
Forum rules
This sub forum is for new menbers to announce themselves. Try not to create long threads here -- this is just for you to tell us who you are, and for us to say welcome. There are other forums to actually discuss real tech-science things here, and ask questions on. The idea hopefully is to have enough forums and subforums that nothing sci-tech related will be off-topic, there will be a place for it. If I missed something -- let me know, and I'll fix that.

Hi Folks,

I've just joined and wanted to let you know a little about me.

I'm Disabled/Retired, and I worked in the chemical/drug industry's most of my life.

Half my life I was a Field Engineer and the other half Instrumentation Journeyman then Engineer and Programmer.

As usual I've got a million hobbies, which I switch back and forth from when I get bored or can't progress without more money :D

I'm most active right now in radiation instrumentation, photography and amateur telescope making.

I hope to learn a bit from these forums and if I'm lucky I'll get to pass on a little info.
Given the high level of expertise on this list, I expect to learn more than teach !

So, thanks for reading, and I hope to see you all on the lists,
Daryl

Welcome to the board Daryl! I'm another Michigander that hangs out here and like you, I have a million hobbies. I haven't been too active lately - been keeping overly busy with my job and working on the homestead. There's a lot of good people here and a wealth of knowledge to tap!

We should mention that Joe and I are the principals of "DJ's", and our specialty (at least here) is nuclear instrumentation just now. If you're into that, you might want to check out our metrology subforums and the threads there, as well as DJ's - which is kind of a list of the "finished" projects Joe and I have been doing.

And of course, welcome to the board!
Posting as just me, not as the forum owner. Everything I say is "in my opinion" and YMMV -- which should go for everyone without saying.
