I see most people introduce themselves here. So I will start by saying I am a Firefighter and a Paramedic, so I know I am not as smart as the rest of you all here. I am here to learn from you all here and to hear some interesting things. I am also a Home Inspector and made a RC crawlspace inspection vehicle with cameras and lights(harder than I thought it would be). I shoot the IDPA where I live and do lots of reloading of ammunition. That lead to me getting a class 6 FFL and can legally manufacture and sell ammunition. I mostly reload empty brass people send to me. I don't know if this is information that you want to know but so what.

Firefighter is a damned good thing to be able to claim. Some of the best people I've known are firefighters and humble heroes. Hoo-rah.

And BTW, some of us are also competitive shooters and reloaders. We don't emphasize it much in public, but...nice to be skilled with the tools and so on. I'm primarily a long range rifle guy, but I just got back from lunch with the guy who teaches (I help) for CCW. He kicks butt in handguns, I handle the long ones.

I wanted to say something about that, but didn't.

Since you did, I like rifles better, but my absolute favorite pistol is the S&W model 66. Finest pistol I've ever owned, and it was particularly forgiving with respect to mistakes by the hand loader.

Me. I double-charged one out of a set of fifty .38 special +P rounds and went to the range. Needless to say, when that fricking cannon round went off, the range was cleared, and I was only too happy to leave with all my parts intact. The rangemaster wasn't happy at all, not even a little bit.

My gunsmith did some measurements and a dye test for cracks, and gave me back my undamaged pistol with a shake of his head.

S&W mod 14 here... .38 but easily handles .357 pressures - really thick metal from the old days. Have 2 loads that zero the same at 25' and the other at 100 yards. CZ-97b in .45 ACP second favorite, even though it only has irons. Tons of others (including full-race 1911) but those are the great ones.
2.8 gr bullseye/150 gr wadcutter cast here (Lee tumble lube) - red dot == black hole, 100%, from the 14. It's what I start beginners on to give them some confidence. Then we give them a different gun to show them how BS that Hollywood stuff really is. So they won't think they can do it, because they can't.

More fun to hunt flies off the beer soaked target at 100 and 200 yards with the .223 bolt Cooper, the custom 6ppc or the seriously 'smithed Ruger 77 mk2 in .308 (which sucked until I put ~ 60 hours labor into it). You can really tell when you score - big splat. Just a hole, you missed.

I'll have to see if I still have the video of my son's half brother shooting an old toolbox with 1/2 lb of Tannerite inside. The look on his face as the toolbox lid flew over us (at 35 yds from the target, I know..) was priceless.

I guess that's why he wanted it taken down from YouTube, hm?
