Ive had this Zeiss OPMI 1 microscope sitting around for about a year and a half now and finally made a base to hold it. It came off an old Summit LASIK machine and had a special base mount that was a kind of adjustable plate. Took that and machined it down to a strip and machined about half the diameter out of a piece of 1" chrome plated steel rod from an old air cylinder. Couple 1/4 bolts hold the two together. The upright was made from another piece of the rod and the base was from an old PRI robot. I used one of the FOBA clamps from my photography kit.
Its a real nice scope to have. It has a long working distance from the objective to the work so you have room for hands.
