Doug;
I saw the light. I have been using through-hole parts to assemble my FineWine prototypes including the 1N4148 diodes for input protection. I noted them heating and discovered that my PMT input signals were being totally attenuated on both the breadboard and prototype PC board. I forgot that ...

Doug;
I answered my own questions by doing some further research on back discussion over several threads. Best wishes and I will save you having to answer my previous post for now. Thanks again, Larry Upjohn.

Re: The fine wine of preamp design
Doug and Friends;
it has been a while since I last posted here but I have been slowly churning away on RAD projects between outside pressures. I have just done up my second breadboard FINEWINE preamp with better results than the previous version. I followed your schematic with out reducing the LED ...

Hi all;
The following link has both Ford Model A and Ford Model T parts including a variety of spark plugs. There are the modern glass to metal sealed variety with 1/2" NPT and a more expensive version that can be disassembled with the same thread. The link follows:

Re: The fine wine of preamp design
Doug;
Thanks for the help yesterday. I cut the NFB resistor to 10k and reduced LED resistor to 15k. Also added filter caps (6.8mfd electrolytic and 0.1 mfd ceramic and serial 47ohm resistor to the positive battery lead. Also boosted battery up to nine volts DC as suggested. This amp is truely fine ...

Doug;
I have built up a through hole version of the WINE Pre-amp using a protoboard with its inherent problems. I even made the upgrade to the 6.8k resistor in the first emitter leg as you observed above. I have been running the proto off a 3.6v 1/2 AA lithium battery with the following observations ...

I used the search and found DJ's. I am learning! Thanks anyway and I will follow up when you have the preamp boards in supply. More later, Larry Upjohn.

Doug;
I am a newby here and need to catch up on a set of initials you have noted in the above description. Who is DJ and are these PC boards available yet? Thanks and Happy New Year! Larry Upjohn.
P.S. I have prototyped this pre-amp as well as the MCP 6024 based pre-amp and find them both excellent ...

Hi all;
The script on this video is Japanese so maybe this is Japanese tooling rather than Chinese after all. LRU.
